Welcome
I am Laura Bryant, a Colorado fiber artist. My rope and fabric bowls, baskets, and artworks are all one-of-a-kind machine sewn creations.
I taught art in BVSD for 32 years. After recently retiring, I was suddenly struck with rheumatoid arthritis, which has at times limited my ability to draw, paint, and sew on a small scale. I knew I needed to find a new medium that would bring me passion and beauty, and capture the interest of patrons. In my first year, I created over 700 works and sold 400 pieces through studio shows, Louisville farmers markets, Niwot festivals, and winter and Christmas markets in Longmont and Niwot and Boulder Open Studios.

SCHEDULE A VISIT to my studio (west of Niwot) to see the complete range of my fabric basket work! This site shows only 25% of my creations. Whether you're local or visiting the area, you're welcome to browse with no pressure to purchase. Bring a friend along! laurambw@gmail.com

Come visit my studio and see the rich variety of vibrant colors, shapes and textures of the baskets, jewelry and other fiber artworks. Sit and relax on a comfy chair and soak in the creative atmosphere—no purchase necessary, just come browse, touch, and enjoy the artistry around you.

I'm inspired by how experience with the medium can elevate simple recycled materials into rich, layered compositions—like paint on a canvas.
The threads, fabrics, and ribbons, with their varied widths and stitches, become painterly additions to pieces that might otherwise have been merely utilitarian vessels.
I love witnessing the transformation in both children and adults as they discover their own passion and mastery in rope sewing. I teach rope basket making at Maggie's Sewing Center in Longmont.
